Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of that year.

The win also indicates the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children together, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

His defensive strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced service.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional title, seized the initiative to force a third set.

Moutet defended four early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
